In progress - Resource Trading & Repair Tracking App
Part of our mission is to facilitate a more connected repair network where resources and knowledge are preserved and shared.
Over the past year we have been working on plans to build an application that meets re:Gear's unique needs in terms of tracking repair statuses and redistributing parts and items. Our initial plan had been to build something centralised around specific spaces as distribution centers, where people locally could come to retrieve items we had acquired.
Since building an online network of local handy-people (@ Make Stuff Dunedin Discord) who are now actively trading knowledge & resources, it's become apparent that inventory management software for repairs could benefit hobbyist individuals & local businesses as well as us at re:Gear.
We're planning to build software that will:
- Provide personal inventory management capabilities to users.
- Allow users to advertise surplus items & parts to a wider network.
- Support the archiving of educational resources and schematics pertaining to repair and diy hardware projects.
We're currently in the early stages of development and working on rearchitecting for a wider userbase.
